Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 aka PS 1 is based on the historic novel written five decades back by Kalki. Ponniyin Selvan is a historic fiction, which has mostly real historical characters and more real historical incidents. Vandiyathevan sets out to cross the Chola land to deliver a message from Crown Prince Aditha Karikalan. Kundavai attempts to establish political peace in the land seemingly civil war plotted by vassals and petty chieftains.
